Each month students are invited to participate in one of our “Bass Battles” to assist in their online bass lessons. This includes recording and posting a performance video of their playing along to a custom backing track. These assignments help students to improve their bass technique and is an essential part of our virtual music instruction.
November Bass Battle
We have a beat produced by the Denver artist Niko Suave Music for the November edition of the monthly bass battle. This jazz influenced hip hop beat blends soothing piano samples and hard driving drums. It is also in a fairly uncommon key, E flat minor, which allows students to work outside their comfort zone. On your bass line writing journey start by connecting to the groove and then work on outlining the chords. Then, if you still need help, contact Teacher Ross for further guidance!
